What does Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille smell like?

Tobacco Vanille is a warm, spicy fragrance from Tom Ford, released in 2007 and composed by Olivier Gillotin. Its published notes are tobacco leaf and spicy notes on top, vanilla, cacao, tonka bean and tobacco blossom in the heart, and dried fruits and woody notes in the base (Tobacco Vanille note list). Read together, those notes describe tobacco and vanilla with cacao, tonka and dried fruit over woods. A good alternative keeps the tobacco and vanilla pairing.

Sero Vanilla Ember: the most shared notes

Vanilla Ember comes from Sero, a Toronto house rather than an Arabian one, and it shares more of the Tobacco Vanille note list than any other bottle we carry. Its published notes are tobacco leaf, tobacco blossom, vanilla, cacao, tonka bean and dried fruits, six of the eight. It lists no spicy or woody notes, so on paper it is sweeter and simpler. Choose it if you want the closest note match. It is an extrait de parfum in a 50 ml bottle.

Lattafa Asad: tobacco and vanilla with pepper and coffee

Of the Arabian perfumes we carry that list tobacco, Asad shares the most with Tobacco Vanille: tobacco and vanilla, plus black pepper and dry wood where Tobacco Vanille lists spicy and woody notes. It also has pineapple, patchouli, coffee, iris, amber, benzoin and labdanum, and no cacao, tonka or dried fruit. Pineapple and coffee give it a fruitier start and a roasted middle. Choose it if you want tobacco and vanilla with pepper and coffee. It is an eau de parfum.

Assaf Tobacco Jam 50: tobacco and vanilla with lavender

Tobacco Jam 50 keeps a short pyramid: bergamot and lavender on top, amber and patchouli in the heart, and vanilla and tobacco in the base. It shares the tobacco and vanilla that give Tobacco Vanille its name, but lists no cacao, tonka or dried fruits. Bergamot and lavender give it a fresher, more aromatic start, and patchouli adds an earthy middle. Choose it if you want tobacco and vanilla with a fresher opening. It is an extrait de parfum in a 100 ml bottle.

Lattafa Khamrah Dukhan: spicier, with incense

Khamrah Dukhan shares spices, tobacco and tonka bean with Tobacco Vanille. It adds pimento, mandarin, incense, labdanum, orange blossom and patchouli, with praline, amber and benzoin in the base. Vanilla, cacao and dried fruits are not on its list, though praline and benzoin add a sweet side. Choose it if you like the tobacco and spice of Tobacco Vanille and want more incense and resin. It is an eau de parfum.

Qadr by Sara Sakina: our own perfume, without tobacco

Qadr is our own perfume, so here is exactly where it overlaps. It shares vanilla and tonka with Tobacco Vanille, along with spice through cardamom and saffron, and both finish on woods: guaiac wood and amberwood in Qadr. It has no tobacco, cacao or dried fruits. Instead it adds boozy notes, coffee, cade, cistus, suede, benzoin and labdanum, so it leans resinous and smoky rather than fruity. Choose it if you love the warm vanilla, tonka and spice of Tobacco Vanille and want coffee and suede instead of tobacco. It is an extrait de parfum with our 10 to 12 hour longevity guarantee, and there is a 5 ml tester.
