A boozy gourmand perfume pairs a cognac or liqueur accord with cinnamon, tonka, praline and vanilla, often over oak and sandalwood. Of the perfumes on this page, Maison Alhambra Kismet Magic lists cognac, cinnamon, tonka, oak, praline, vanilla and sandalwood, and Sero Spirit Flame lists those plus hedione and candied almond. Lattafa Khamrah Qahwa and Khamrah Dukhan share praline and tonka. Qadr by Sara Sakina pairs boozy notes with tonka and vanilla.

Key takeaways

  • The profile: cognac and cinnamon over praline, vanilla and tonka, with oak and sandalwood.
  • Eau de parfum pick: Kismet Magic, with cognac, cinnamon, tonka, oak, praline, vanilla and sandalwood.
  • Longest note list: Sero Spirit Flame, which adds hedione and candied almond.
  • Khamrah line: Khamrah Qahwa adds coffee; Khamrah Dukhan adds incense and tobacco.
  • Our own: Qadr by Sara Sakina, sharing tonka and vanilla, with boozy notes and saffron.

What does a boozy cognac and praline perfume smell like?

The profile starts with a cognac accord warmed by cinnamon. Tonka bean and oak sit in the middle, and praline, vanilla, sandalwood and candied almond make a sweet, woody base. Perfumes in this style usually keep the cognac, the cinnamon or the praline, and change the rest.

Which Arabian perfumes have a boozy gourmand profile?

These perfumes on our shelves share part of this profile, with notes from each house's published list.

Maison Alhambra Kismet Magic: cognac, cinnamon and praline

Kismet Magic carries the cognac-and-praline profile as an eau de parfum. Its published notes are cognac on top, cinnamon, tonka bean and oak in the heart, and praline, vanilla and sandalwood in the base. Hedione and candied almond are not on its list. Choose it if you want cognac, cinnamon and praline in an eau de parfum.

Sero Spirit Flame: the longest note list

Sero Spirit Flame lists more of this profile than any other perfume here: cognac, cinnamon, tonka bean, oak, hedione, praline, vanilla, sandalwood and candied almond. A note list does not show how the materials are balanced, so smell it before you decide. Choose it if you want all of those notes at extrait strength. It is an extrait de parfum in a 50 ml bottle.

Lattafa Khamrah Qahwa: cinnamon and praline with coffee

Khamrah Qahwa belongs to the Khamrah line. Qahwa means coffee in Arabic. It shares cinnamon, praline, vanilla and tonka bean with this profile, and adds cardamom, ginger, candied fruits, white flowers, coffee, benzoin and musk. With no cognac on its list, it is a spiced coffee gourmand rather than a boozy one. Choose it if you want coffee with the cinnamon and praline. It is an eau de parfum.

Lattafa Khamrah Dukhan: praline and tonka with smoke

Khamrah Dukhan is the smoky member of the Khamrah line, and dukhan means smoke in Arabic. It shares praline and tonka bean with this profile, and adds spices, pimento, mandarin, incense, labdanum, orange blossom, patchouli, tobacco, amber and benzoin. It has no cognac or cinnamon on its list. Choose it if you like a sweet praline and tonka base and want incense and tobacco with it. It is an eau de parfum.

Qadr by Sara Sakina: boozy, with saffron and suede

Qadr is our own perfume, so we will be clear about where it fits. It shares tonka and vanilla with this profile, and lists boozy notes in place of cognac. It adds cardamom, saffron, smoky cade, cistus, suede, benzoin, coffee, labdanum, guaiac wood and amberwood, with no cinnamon, praline, oak or almond, so it is less sugary and smokier. Choose it if you like the boozy warmth but want saffron and suede in place of praline. It is an extrait de parfum with our 10 to 12 hour longevity guarantee, and there is a 5 ml tester.
