Bakhoor & Incense

Bakhoor is scented wood chips or pressed tablets soaked in fragrance oils such as oud, amber and musk. It is burned over charcoal or an electric burner to perfume a home, clothes and hair.

Place a small piece on a lit charcoal disc or an electric bakhoor burner and let the smoke rise. A little goes a long way, and one piece can scent a room for hours. Never leave it unattended.

Bakhoor is burned on a heat source and gives a thick, fragrant smoke, while incense sticks burn on their own and are lighter. We carry both, along with burners.

Yes. Many people let bakhoor smoke pass through clothes, scarves and hair so the scent lasts through the day. Keep fabric a safe distance from the burner.

It depends on the smoke you like. For a classic, rich oud scent, choose an oud muattar bakhoor. For a softer, sweeter smoke, choose a mabsoos or maamoul blend. Start with a small piece in a well-aired room.
