Confidential Private Gold — Eau de Parfum 100 ml
Profile: peach, passionfruit, pear, raspberry and cassis over lily of the valley, on musk, vanilla, patchouli, sandalwood and heliotrope. Fruity Gourmand. Listed unisex, for date nights and evenings.
Verdict: five fruits stacked into the opening, then a single flower holding the middle on its own, then a five-note base. Heliotrope at the bottom is what gives it the powdery almond quality underneath all that fruit. The less expensive of the two, and the only one listed for date nights. Currently out of stock. Confidential Platinum — Eau de Parfum 100 ml
Profile: citruses, bergamot, cypress and black pepper over olibanum, on musk, ambergris, labdanum and moss. Fresh Citrus-Aquatic. Presented for men, for daily wear and evenings.
Verdict: the same single-note-heart structure, here filled by olibanum, which is frankincense. Bright and peppery on top, resinous and mossy underneath — a fresh fragrance with an incense spine rather than a clean one. Musk is the one note it shares with Private Gold. Currently out of stock. Which Confidential should you buy?
Fruity, powdery and sweet, for evenings out: Private Gold. Citrus, pepper and incense, wearable in daylight too: Platinum. Both are eau de parfum at 100 ml and a dollar apart in price, so the decision is entirely about direction. Private Gold is listed unisex; Platinum is presented for men.
