Khalis Exclusive 04 – Eau de Parfum

This review is for the Maison d'Orient EXCLUSIVE 04 RED perfume/cologne. It comes in a nice heavy glass, maroon color bottle with a gold'ish color label. The bottle is 100ml. The atomizer puts out a nice little mist of spray that I feel is the perfect amount. The scent, as described on the product page, is a "blend of woody, amber, and warm spicy notes with a hint of fresh spice and floral undertones."First off, I'm not one that buys any sort of fragrance very often. I wanted to try this one because I was due for something new and different. I was totally impressed with how good it smells. I don't understand some of the other marginal reviews I've read. This stuff smells so good and and lasts 5-6 hours throughout the day. People will notice this scent when you walk in the room. It's not subtle, but I think most people will appreciate it. It's a very attractive scent and everyone I've come in contact with says they really like it.The price is good and the scent is amazing. I would (and will) absolutely buy this again and recommend it to anyone looking to try something new. 5/5 stars.

Scent is so incredibly personal, as witnessed by the varying reviews here. Buying a scent without trying it first can be a risky proposition. The fact that this perfume/cologne is reasonably priced makes it a little easier to take a chance on. For me, I like the scent quite a lot, but don’t “love it”. The top note is very fruity/floral and dries down almost instantly to something a little more nuanced. On me it is slightly sweet, but also rich and deep. It is not at all woodsy, leathery, bright or citrusy. It is very much in line with other “Red” perfumes in the market, just not as complex. It is more of an evening scent, in my opinion. Too strong and heavy for daytime. It is a unisex scent (In my opinion they all are. If you love it, wear it). It isn’t classically “masculine” or “feminine”.The packaging, which boldly states “Exclusive” and “Luxury” on it, made me roll my eyes a bit. I tend to feel like a true luxury item doesn’t need to call itself that. But at this price, maybe it is an appropriate thing to do…I will say that this does not smell like a department store scent. It is much better than that. But it also doesn’t come close to the “red” scent that I purchased in Paris from a luxury brand that only does scents. That was a rare splurge on my part. I was torn between giving this four stars or five. I’d call my rating 4.5 stars. But again, in the world of scent, one person’s “5 stars” is another person’s “3 stars”…

I was expecting the woody notes for this perfume because the ingredients include: saffron, amber, and woody notes. Unfortunately, the fragrance didn’t quite live up to my expectations. The scent was overly sweet, with very sickly notes, the woody notes that I was excited about were not noticeable. It might be a good fragrance to someone but just not me.

The branding is great if a little confusing. It feels weighty and more expensive than it is ($38). The cap is fitted tightly onto the spray nozzle and I was very worried I would break it trying to get the cap off. The glass bottle is heavy and well made.I honestly thought this scent would lean more "masculine" because the branding looks more masculine to me. But it strikes me as very feminine. Somehow, it reminds me of the fruity body sprays we used to drench ourselves in as teenagers. I'm not sure that scent works for me now. It's also, to its credit, pretty strong and lingers on my skin. Interestingly enough, it doesn't seem to do the same on my husband. I can barely smell it on him. His natural scent just overpowers this but mine is drowned out by it.For his part, my husband says this smell reminds him of tanning salons which I can also see. We both agree that tanning salons smell distinctly feminine - with female patrons who seem to favor heavily scented lotions and sprays and tanning creams and shampoos. I think it's a bright and pretty scent and it strikes me as youthful maybe just because it's reminding me of the preferred scents of teenage me.But this iteration is just not hitting the right notes for me personally and it makes me feel a bit woozy.Since it is unisex, I will see if it appeals to my teen son.

Exclusive 04 red is a delicious unisex scent that gives off some more woodsy vibes, If I wouldn't say this is fit for someone that's too girly it wants something super fruity. It's hard to say if this leans masculine or feminine, as you do get quite a bit of everything, Well I'm a male and I find this perfectly fine as an everyday set. It doesn't stay super sharp and layers off, but the scent itself will stay with you.

I absolutely love this scent and the throw is just perfection for me. It may be a little strong for some, so if you don’t like strong or lasting fragrances, don’t get it. True to Middle Eastern perfumes, you can smell this even through walls! It smelled masculine to me in the bottle and I wasn’t sure I’d like it based off of that. After letting it marinate on my skin though, wow. This is def a scent for date night, winter, etc. it’s not a summery spring type of scent if that makes sense. It is sensual, kinda musky, dark floral and sort of sandalwood. I love it! The bottle is heavy and the atomizer sprays out a light mist that covers a really generous area. Great fragrance, you won’t be disappointed!

This is a good sized bottle and to me it has a warm, dark berry like fruity scent with a mild floral and woody undertone. It's not an overwhelming scent but it does linger on the skin for quite a few hours. It's not a scent I would normally wear, but it's still pleasant and a good price for a bottle of perfume.

It has a rather pleasant smell. I like it on me and I'm sure I'd like it on my spouse even better. I usually don't wear scents but I'm liking this. I've been using it after a shower and for some reason, I start sneezing after spraying it on my neck. I'm not sure why it happens, but it does. There's also quite a bit of it in the bottle which was surprising.

I like the fact that it's actually perfume and not toilet water. The scent really does last all day. It smells good on me. It smells good on my wife. I am definitely going to get this again.

I don't know what the original BR40 smells like, but there is so much hype around that scent. Whether it is close or not, I have no clue. I will say that it is a nice spray, and staying power is very long lasting and strong on clothing.. I wouldn't say this is a favorite; different tastes.

Warm Sweet Red Fruit Punch scent - Unisex/Feminine leaning. Bottle is a decent heavy glass and the atomizer sprays a very fine mist and it leans towards a feminine user or if you like the warm sweet scents.

This is not the only BR540 dna perfume that Maison d'Orient makes, but I believe it is likely the closest.The notes as listed on MDO website: Top Notes: Saffron, Jasmine Middle Notes: Amberwood, Ambergris Base Notes: Fir Resin, CedarThese are accurate, and align with BR540. This perfume has good performance, of course not matching the nuclear performance of the original, but good enough for all day wear. The smell is more focused on saffron and amberwood to my nose, and is a little fruitier and less musky than other BR540 clones I have smelled. I would say this, while conceivably unisex, would be worn by women most of the time, and most likely in the cooler months or evenings.

I love the scent but I wouldn't consider this unisex. I wear unisex perfume normally as I don't really like florals and this is just a bit too much on the 'manly' spectrum for me. There's deep woody and musky notes in there and it smells fantastic. The presentation is good - nice study bottle and it sprays evenly. Not for me but certainly a great scent.

This opens up with a really nice Saffron and Jasmine note and then dries down with a sweeter amber and wood accord. I see others commenting that it reminds them of Baccarat Rouge 540, and I can see that. But this has a bit of a twist and becomes a bit more of its own thing. At this price point, I don't expect it to be exact, but it does do a nice job of calling that much higher end fragrance to mind. If you're on a budget, and you really like BR 540, this is a good option.The bottle is nice and heavy glass and feels quality. The cap fits tightly, and though it's made of plastic, it has a good quality feel as well. I like the frosting of the glass, and the color looks great. The box itself is a little too small for the bottle, so the bottle kind of distorts the box around it. But it's still fairly protected.It lasts about 5-6 hours on my skin, and creates a nice little halo of scent. It doesn't project very far after about 30 minutes or so, but anyone near you will be able to pick it up and enjoy the scent. I would wear this for more intimate situations in colder months where you want to smell good up close. Probably not the best idea for summer our outdoors in the heat.It has a masculine lean to it, but it's definitely unisex and can be warn by either a man or woman or nonbinary individual.

This smells AMAZING! Only thing is this is more like a misty application like a body spray not a perfume so the smell doesn’t last too long. It does smell soooooo good though! I don’t really see this being a manly scent, this reminded me instantly of the Ariana Grande Cloud perfume. This spray lasted maybe an hour before the scent faded.

Much like another maison d'orient fragrance that I've tried, this one smells similar to how fruit punch tastes, and I'm talking about the bright red fruit punch drink full of sugar that you can buy by the gallon. Unlike the other fragrance, this one is less floral and even more fruity. Definitely unisex, leans slightly fem though. The longevity is good, I sprayed in on a test strip and 24 hours later I can still smell it on the paper.

This is a dupe of BR540 just not as cloying, i personally do not like that scent is why i gave it 3 stars and the longevity is about 5 hours. bottle and atomizer are average

This perfume is a dupe for the immensely popular MFK Baccarat 540. I have smelled the original and it is a masterpiece. This does not reach that level but the DNA is there. I could smell the saffron immediately after the first spray. It is missing that stronger hint of Jasmine in the original. As the perfume dried, I could detect the woody notes and the saffron notes floating around. It is a nice fragrance, not for everyone. This has excellent projection and it lasts for several hours without a respray. This is more of a spicy woody fragrance that is missing the creamy warmness of the original but this is still a nice fragrance for both men and women at a fraction of the cost of the original.This arrived in a nice heavy glass bottle that had a secure top. The sprayer worked well without any leaking.
