stinky barnyard oud

At first, I thought it smelled like the OG. But after wearing it all day and doing a side-by-side test, it’s not even close. The oud in this one is strong and barnyard-like. After a couple hours, it fades a bit, but overall it’s maybe 60% similar — easily the worst dupe I’ve tried.***Update: a month after purchase, smell has significantly improved. I've of heard of this over used word maceration, but now I'm a believer. The perfume smells way better, initially I could only smell the stinky oud, but now it's as if everything has mixed together better. Now I'd have to say it's 85-90 % similar to the original!

Incredible

I usually don't leave feedbacks, but after reading some of the comments and I mean the low comments it is clear that none of you have a bottle of Tom Ford Oud Wood. When I got this bottle I sit here confused trying to figure out how did they pull this off. This smells extremely close to Oud Wood! In Facct I could not tell the difference. I don't know how long it projects but all I can say is DAM, WOW, etc. or am I being punked ? looking for cameras because my wife is a jokester. But yea, this is as close as your going to find as this was my first blind knock off buy without trying the others. good stuff 👌

Great, after letting it mature.....

I, literally, went back to return this fragrance when I first recieved it, as the scent was great, although it seemed to evaporate after minutes. I have used the original (OG) by Tom Ford for years. This was going to be a replacement/alternate for the OG that I use regularly. Again, I tried to return it, only to find that the seller does not accept returns. They were very considerate and did offer me a credit for something else. Needless to say, I'm aware of the maceration process, and have done it for a few 'inspired by' fragrances that I have here. I used Woody Oud a couple times to run errands or around the home because I appreciate the scent that much. Put it away after 3-4 wears; roughly 12 sprays to let a little oxygen/air in the bottle. Back in the box for 5-6wks. After rotating it every couple days for 5-6 weeks, it has matured into what I would call, a great interpretation of the OG. All the notes are there, and it now lasts for 4-5 hours; which is decent for this type of fragrance. TF Oud Wood notoriously does not have the best performance, with a lingering warn oud for hours. Overall, this was a great little buy....well, return, I guess. Feel bad receiving the credit. Used the credit to purchase a back up bottle of Amber and Leather by Maison Alhambra. Another great inspired by fragrance (TF Ombre Leather). My sig scent.

Hell of a clone

It’s dead on to Tom Ford Oud Wood. I’ve seen a few reviews that said it doesn’t last very long, which seems to be on par with the actual Tom Ford, but I can smell it for 5+ hours. Save yourself $300 and just buy this. Love it.

Great t.f. oud wood dupe

It smells almost just like oud wood by tom ford at a fraction of the price

Decent but smells synthetic

I purchased this thinking it would be a more affordable alternative to tom ford oud wood but unfortunately it was not very close.I enjoy layering my citrus and fruity perfume with woody notes for which this does an okayish job. But its nowhere close to Tom Ford or other premium ones. The longevity and projection is really good but it smells cheap and synthetic. I agree that its an cheaper alternative but not quite worth the price.I would wear it out while running errands but wouldn’t use it for layering while wearing perfumes for formal occasions

Great woody out scent

Sweet and gentle oud fragrance that leans masculine. Longevity is 4 hours or so. Projecting well for an hour or so with a 3 spray amount. More sprays make this one last longer. Nice bottle and good sprayer. This is a great value for the money at 100 ml. Has a very similar attraction as oud Wood.

Not Bad

This is the 3rd Maison Alhambra scent I have purchased. My favorite so far being the Tobacco dupe (it REALLY is that good)! This starts off strong with some hope, and then really just fades a little too fast leaving a decent soft scent. But, as with the other Alhambra colognes, I always give a second spray and it makes it last a bit longer since the price comes in so affordable . Anyway, I do really like Alhambra scents, and this one is not bad, but kinda just misses for me. I'm more of a bold scent guy.

I got the real wood Oud after I bought it. It doesn’t compare at All.

Like the title says. Today I just got the travel size Oud wood, and wow. I was surprised at first because the “Peppermint” like smell in the beginning was similar. But it was only after smelling them side by side I was like woah, it’s complete different. I really don’t like the opening note. But comparing it to this one this one is worst it smells bad in comparison to Oud wood when it smells spicy but not in a bad way. It’s held back. But as it dries forget about it, Oud wood is ADDICTING! It literally makes you want to smell it more and more. It’s more of an experience. And ambience than just a fragrance. I never smelled Oud before so I was like WTH is this? Does it smell bad? No. Hmmm let me take another whif. And I’m consult like that then as it fried down it gets creamy, you can smell the tonka beans better, and every time you smell it it’s slightly different. I would say it’s. A perfect blend. If any of the scented in it were slightly more potent it would not be as good. But it’s so perfectly balanced.Don’t waste your money on this. For the same price in fragrance.net you can get the real Oud wood and try it out. I got a bunch of other small samples to try and I’ll have to say worth it. Because now I know I really do like Oud wood and this doupe does not live to the expectation at all.I won’t even suggest getting this if you have less money. No. Get Oud wood.

Not a one to one duplicate...

This has decent performance but the biggest issue is that this version doesn't accurately capture the scent profile of the original. It comes close, falling in what I would consider similar smelling territory, but as far as accurately copying the scent profile I would say it's noticably different if you're very familiar with TF Oud Wood. In the air they smell similar enough to warrant buying this if you just want to come close enough without paying a large sum at retail. Other dupes in this Alhambra line are much closer to the original.

Smells just like Oud Wood by Tom Ford

As soon as I received this, I sprayed it on. My initial reaction was, "It smells exactly the same." As soon as my wife came home, I had her smell my arm and tell me what scent I was wearing. She said, "Oud Wood." That was the test right there. I personally think it smells identical.Smelling it this morning, it's not as strong as the original now. For 1/10 the price, that's fine with me. If I want it to be stronger after wearing it for a while, I'll spray some more on.Listen, I get it: Sometimes you want original scents. I have many original scents. However, if you are a little tight on cash at the moment, and want the Oud Wood smell, this is the cologne for you.

Better than the OG

I've had a decant of the OG, TF Oud Wood, for a long time, so I'm very familiar with the profile this is trying to clone. Personally, I've tried over 600 scents over the past couple of years in my scent journey, ranging from all of the usual suspects in your neighborhood Ulta/Macy's/etc., down to the smallest of handmade niche houses, and all kinds of price points in between. That said, I don't claim to be a fragrance snob/guru/expert or anything, but I'm writing this all to say... this is the best clone fragrance I've ever tried, and one of the best values for money you can find in the entire world of fragrances, in my opinion. This is not identical to Oud Wood, but it's so close it doesn't matter. The OG is slightly more dense, dry and woodier, so to speak, but this is slightly fresher and livelier, which I actually prefer to the OG. Yup, I said it, I actually think this $20-25 clone is BETTER than the OG, and, to be honest, if someone gave me a bottle of Oud Wood, I would sell it, pocket the money, and buy another bottle of this. Yes, it's THAT good. Performance is also slightly better than the OG, as it projects slightly better and lasts longer (FWIW, I get 6-8 hrs from Oud Wood and 8-10 hrs from Woody Oud). I haven't tried the other popular OW clone on here, Oud Wonder, but this tends to be cheaper anyways, so I'd go with this and not look back. I generally always prefer the originals over any clones, but in this particular case, there's ZERO reason to spend the money to get Oud Wood, as this is actually even better than the OG and less than 1/10th of the price.

TF Oud Wood

Here's the deal my friends. We can talk about 95% or 99% or 100% accuracy in the recreation of this fragrance if you want, and I think that any of those three claims would be a very fair assessment. But I don't think that's the conversation we should be having. Let me break it down just a little.First, my resume or cred or experience, if you will. I'm an avid fragrance collector. I have over 60 fragrances ranging from $20-$450. The top end of that range belonging to TF Oud Wood. I started off with a sample of TFOW and was mesmerized right off that bat. I went on to buy the large bottle. I've worn it several times. I'm very familiar with it. All together I think my collection is valued somewhere in the $4,000 range. So I wouldn't say I'm an expert, but neither am I a noob.So I heard about this, ordered it and received it today. And I knew that I didn't even need to spray it, my nose would know just off the atomizer what we were dealing with, and I was right. Although I obviously did move onto sprays as well, and LIBERALLY at this price!Let me tell you. EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING that mesmerizes me with the real TFOW is there, with absolutely nothing that I don't recognize, or is anything I would consider, "off". It even performs just as horribly as the original! (Longevity) but that's inherent with this scent, original or clone apparently and you can take that or leave it. Although nose blindness is real and I never really know how much that's affecting any fragrance. I live a mostly solitary life so there ya go.That being said, this isn't a home run, this is a GRAND FREAKING SLAM. Honestly, if I hadn't ran into some rocky times financially recently, I'd purchase every bottle they have available to keep for myself.Maybe I shouldn't even be writing this review. Maybe I should say it sucks really bad so they won't sell out. But maybe if they do start selling out they'll keep getting more, and ultimately that's what I want. I want this fragrance right here to be around for the rest of my life. And listen, if you didn't buy this fragrance because you appreciate the original, then make sure you include that in your review. Just buying some fragrance blind that you don't know anything about and then bashing it because it's not your style is... I don't know. It's foolish. But if you love the original, then buy this because it is the original, at 1/10 of the price. What a fascinating modern world we live in where something like this is even possible.

Update after 5 years.

Update after 5 years.I have tried many other clones of Tom Ford's Oud Wood and this is still the best option available for the price. The opening has just a fraction of a percentage of a more spicy note but it works really well, The opening will fade very quickly. The Middle notes are indeed there and will still be there long after the drydown comes in.The Middle notes and the drydown work so well together that the scent smells very linear which is something I really like. The Projection is about 5 feet, Moderate Sillage and the Longevity come in at around only 3 hours then it is 100% a skin scent.I bought the refillable travel sprayers and fill those up when I am at a formal function, every 2 hours go to the restroom and put only one spray on front of neck and one on the back of neck. When I come out, my wife says it smells great.I have noticed that more men notice it and will give me a compliment, the women notice but won't say anything, they just tend to hang around more.I have bought 2 more bottles since my first one.
