Profile: lotus, jasmine, cinnamon and gardenia over rose and tea, on woods. Amber Spicy. Listed unisex, for evenings.
Verdict: the largest bottle here by a wide margin — 95 ml of concentrated oil, which at this price works out as the best value per millilitre in the range by a long way. Amaali — Perfume Oil 15 ml
Profile: lemon, apple and pineapple over rose and jasmine, on musk, vanilla, caramel, amber, sandalwood and cedar. Sweet Gourmand. Listed unisex, for daily wear.
Verdict: eleven notes with a six-note base, which is where all the weight sits — caramel and vanilla alongside three woods. Rasheeqa Rouge — Perfume Oil 20 ml
Profile: raspberry, apple, violet, orange and blossom over rose, iris and jasmine, on cedar, cypress, pine tree and amber. Floral. Presented for women, for daily wear.

Which Swiss Arabian oil should you buy?
Best value and available today: Jannet El Firdaus, at 95 ml. Gourmand and concentrated: Amaali. Fruity-floral with a coniferous base: Rasheeqa Rouge. Rose on its own, cheapest: the rose perfume oil. Bear in mind these are oils — a little goes considerably further than a spray, so the small bottles last longer than their size suggests.
