I was expecting the woody notes for this perfume because the ingredients include: saffron, amber, and woody notes. Unfortunately, the fragrance didn’t quite live up to my expectations. The scent was overly sweet, with very sickly notes, the woody notes that I was excited about were not noticeable. It might be a good fragrance to someone but just not me.

The branding is great if a little confusing. It feels weighty and more expensive than it is ($38). The cap is fitted tightly onto the spray nozzle and I was very worried I would break it trying to get the cap off. The glass bottle is heavy and well made.I honestly thought this scent would lean more "masculine" because the branding looks more masculine to me. But it strikes me as very feminine. Somehow, it reminds me of the fruity body sprays we used to drench ourselves in as teenagers. I'm not sure that scent works for me now. It's also, to its credit, pretty strong and lingers on my skin. Interestingly enough, it doesn't seem to do the same on my husband. I can barely smell it on him. His natural scent just overpowers this but mine is drowned out by it.For his part, my husband says this smell reminds him of tanning salons which I can also see. We both agree that tanning salons smell distinctly feminine - with female patrons who seem to favor heavily scented lotions and sprays and tanning creams and shampoos. I think it's a bright and pretty scent and it strikes me as youthful maybe just because it's reminding me of the preferred scents of teenage me.But this iteration is just not hitting the right notes for me personally and it makes me feel a bit woozy.Since it is unisex, I will see if it appeals to my teen son.

This review is for the Maison d'Orient EXCLUSIVE 04 RED perfume/cologne. It comes in a nice heavy glass, maroon color bottle with a gold'ish color label. The bottle is 100ml. The atomizer puts out a nice little mist of spray that I feel is the perfect amount. The scent, as described on the product page, is a "blend of woody, amber, and warm spicy notes with a hint of fresh spice and floral undertones."First off, I'm not one that buys any sort of fragrance very often. I wanted to try this one because I was due for something new and different. I was totally impressed with how good it smells. I don't understand some of the other marginal reviews I've read. This stuff smells so good and and lasts 5-6 hours throughout the day. People will notice this scent when you walk in the room. It's not subtle, but I think most people will appreciate it. It's a very attractive scent and everyone I've come in contact with says they really like it.The price is good and the scent is amazing. I would (and will) absolutely buy this again and recommend it to anyone looking to try something new. 5/5 stars.

Exclusive 04 red is a delicious unisex scent that gives off some more woodsy vibes, If I wouldn't say this is fit for someone that's too girly it wants something super fruity. It's hard to say if this leans masculine or feminine, as you do get quite a bit of everything, Well I'm a male and I find this perfectly fine as an everyday set. It doesn't stay super sharp and layers off, but the scent itself will stay with you.

I absolutely love this scent and the throw is just perfection for me. It may be a little strong for some, so if you don’t like strong or lasting fragrances, don’t get it. True to Middle Eastern perfumes, you can smell this even through walls! It smelled masculine to me in the bottle and I wasn’t sure I’d like it based off of that. After letting it marinate on my skin though, wow. This is def a scent for date night, winter, etc. it’s not a summery spring type of scent if that makes sense. It is sensual, kinda musky, dark floral and sort of sandalwood. I love it! The bottle is heavy and the atomizer sprays out a light mist that covers a really generous area. Great fragrance, you won’t be disappointed!
