Maahir Legacy Silver — Eau de Parfum
Profile: lime, mint, grapefruit, lavender and pineapple over black pepper, rosemary, juniper berry, geranium and frankincense, on ambroxan, vetiver, oakmoss, tonka bean and cashmeran. Woody Oriental (Oud). Listed unisex, all seasons, for daily wear and evenings.
Verdict: fifteen notes in an unusually even five-five-five structure, and the more versatile of the two — a bright citrus-and-mint opening, a herbal-peppery heart with frankincense, and a dry mossy base. Maahir Gold — Eau de Parfum 100 ml
Profile: red berries, peach and bergamot over jasmine, peony and red lily, on sandalwood, vanilla flower and musk. Woody Oriental (Oud). Listed unisex, all seasons, for evenings.
Verdict: a fruity floral in practice, whatever the filed family says — berries and peach up top, a three-flower heart, and a soft sandalwood-and-musk base. Which Maahir should you buy?
Fresh, herbal, mossy and built to wear in daylight as well as at night: Legacy Silver. Soft, fruity and floral, for evenings: Gold. Both are eau de parfum and both sit at the same price, so this is a choice of direction. Note that the two are filed under the same fragrance family in our records even though they smell nothing alike — go by the pyramids above rather than the family label.
